Gaylord K. Swim

Founder 1948-2005

Gaylord K. Swim, was founder and President of Pillar Capital Advisors (PCA), attended Pomona College before transferring to Brigham Young University, where he received both a BS degree in Business Management/Finance and an MA in Political Science. In 1984 he opened and managed an office of -Dominick & Dominick, a member of the New York Stock Exchange. He resigned his position with Dominick in 1989 to dedicate his professional time to fee-based investment management. Mr. Swim was a former chairman of EFI Electronics and served on the boards of a private school and a number of other non-profit organizations. He was a portfolio manager, analyst, and member of the PCA Investment Committee.

Justin C. Reber

Chairman of the Board

Justin C. Reber is the founder and current president/CEO of OmniLytics, Inc., a bacteriophage company focused on developing natural, effective solutions for infectious disease control. For over a decade he has focused on developing early-stage technology companies. Prior to his work in this field, Justin spent 11 years working with MONY Financial Services. In 1995, Justin served on the Utah Governor’s Task Force for Capital Formation. He currently serves as a trustee for several organizations, including the Building Bridges Foundation, a public charity, located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Justin attended Brigham Young University and lives in Highland, Utah with his wife, Julie, and their five children.

Paul T. Mero

President

Paul T. Mero is currently president of the Sutherland Institute, a conservative public policy think-tank in Utah. Prior to his service at Sutherland, Paul was the Executive Vice-President of The Howard Center for Family, Religion, and Society in Rockford, Illinois, where, among other duties, he administered the Second World Congress of Families meeting in Geneva, Switzerland in 1999. Paul also worked in the United States Congress serving two conservative House members from 1987 to 1997. He has written many articles and given many speeches in his career and recently finished co-authored a book with Allan C. Carlson on the Natural Family. He is a graduate of Brigham Young University and currently resides in Sandy, Utah. Paul and his wife, Sally, have six children and five grandchildren.

LaVar Christensen

LaVar Christensen is an attorney with a broad legal background and extensive experience in Real Estate Development. He also served as a legislator in the Utah House of Representatives for two terms. LaVar received his B.A. degree from BYU and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento California. LaVar is married to Susan Kay Christensen. They have three children: Kenny, who is married to Elizabeth Lee; Karen, who is married to Lincoln Scoffield; and Jeff, who is a college student. They currently have two grandchildren. LaVar is the author and sponsor of Utah's Constitutional Amendment in support of marriage, which passed and was adopted by the voters in 2004. He has also successfully sponsored important legislation that recognizes and strengthens parental rights in Utah. He was named 2005 Statesman of the Year by the Salt Lake County Republican Party.

Stanford D. Swim

Stanford D. Swim is the president of GFC Foundation, a Utah-based private foundation. Prior to taking his current post, he was senior analyst for Probity Advisors, a registered investment advisor in Dallas, Texas. He worked in the technology industry as a software engineer and database developer. He serves on the boards of the State Policy Network and The Howard Center for Family, Religion and Society, and is board chairman of the National Council for Adoption. Stan received an MBA from Southern Methodist University and a BS in computer science from Utah Valley State College. He and his wife, Michelle, live with their two sons in Pleasant Grove, Utah.

Todd Reid

Todd A. Reid is currently Intermountain Financial Group's General Agent located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Intermountain Financial Group is the Salt Lake City agency of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. During his tenure he has received numerous prestigious rewards including the Gold Bowl; the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company's (MassMutual) National Chairman's Trophy as a general agent whose agency led the company in career agent-produced weighted credits in 2005, 2006 and in 2007 the Agency was the sole Agency within the MassMutual system to lead in every qualifying category. He earned the Silver Bowl earlier in 2004.
